Path of Light Center
Hypnotherapist Pieter Elsen (left) and yoga instructor Jenna Iantorno have opened Path of Light Center for Healing and Yoga, located in a historic Victorian home on West Chapman near the Plaza.

Located in a historic, 1903 Victorian home in Old Towne, the recently opened Path of Light Center for Healing and Yoga combines the intimacy of a private residence with the professional services of a yoga studio and hypnotherapy practice.

Relocating from Trabuco Canyon, proprietors Jenna Iantorno and Pieter Elsen envisioned finding a live/work space from which to offer yoga classes, meditation gatherings, assorted spiritual programs and hypnotherapy. Now that they are settled into their new location at 611 West Chapman, they’ve even opened a retail store on the premises, offering books, gifts and imports from India and Tibet.

“The atmosphere here is elegant, very comfortable and relaxing,” said Jenna, who teaches yoga classes at the center. “Being in an older home helps bring a feeling of connectedness between the students and teacher and better creates a community of participants in a space that is conducive to peacefulness and rest.”

With classes offered Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm (by appointment), the center’s roster of programs includes classic hatha yoga suitable for beginners, as well as restorative yoga ideal for anyone who has had an injury and is trying to get back to better health. The most popular class, Introduction to Yogic Life is a five-week course that helps participants to develop their own practice at home.

A certified hypnotherapist, Pieter Elsen conducts sessions in a private office onsite. Promoting a state of deep relaxation in which the subconscious mind is receptive to positive thoughts and suggestions, hypnotherapy can help with such issues as quitting smoking, weight loss, anxiety, sleep problems, grief and divorce.

According to Jenna, the center, which functions almost as an ashram, provides a place for a variety of activities, whether Native American cultural workshops, Reiki certification, or guided meditations every Friday night.

“We love being in Old Towne where the local community is so warm and open,” she said. “It’s a great situation to be located on Chapman because so many people pass by our sign and want to come in and check us out.”

Path of Light Center Update

Path of Light has had some major changes all of a sudden and has moved out of Old Towne Orange. Pieter has relocated his Hypnotherapy Practice to the Spectrum Tower in Laguna Hills. Jenna is now available to do private yoga sessions in home, and corporate yoga for businesses in all of Orange County. They can still be reached at their website, noted below.
