Julep’s Floral and Gifts
Longtime Old Towne merchant Linda Blea-Hodo has relocated her Julep’s Floral and Gifts to a new space on South Orange directly across from her former location. She is assisted by her friend, Steve Watkins (pictured above). Peggy Oloumi, owner of the former Two Sisters in Old Towne, also helps out at the store.

The space may be slightly smaller, but the newly relocated is still big on great offerings for home and garden.

Moving from its previous location across the street on North Orange, the new Julep’s at 123 South Orange marks a new era for owner Linda Blea-Hodo, who has been in business in Old Towne for the last seven years.

“I needed to restructure my life after my husband passed away, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue with the business,” Linda said. “My clients were so loyal and wonderful; they encouraged me to stay. I saw the potential of the new space and thought it was fantastic.” Downsized from 2,800 square feet to 540 square feet, the shop features a beautiful array of gift and garden items, stationary, greeting cards, jewelry and gourmet food lines, plus seasonal products, including Christmas collectibles and popular items for fall and Halloween.

A full-service florist, Julep’s provides arrangements for weddings, parties, birthdays and more, with local delivery available.

Linda says she will be carrying some of her more popular cookware products online in the near future. “I want to continue to carry the CIA kitchenware and bakeware, plus our Casafina dishware, which is a really high-quality product from Portugal,” she said. “We are hoping to launch an online store where we can still sell those products to our customers.”

With an official re-grand opening celebration set for Sept 8th and 9th, Julep’s continues to be a mainstay retailer in Old Towne, much to the delight of her loyal following.

“I feel so blessed to be a part of the community and to have met so many cool and wonderful people and fellow merchants,” Linda said. “This new shop really marks a turning point in my life as an independent, single woman. I’m glad that my customers have supported me in my decision to stay, and I’m so happy to be here in Old Towne Orange.”
