33rd Annual Charity Golf Classic

Orange County Mother of the Year Event

Orange County Mother of the Year recognizes women in the community and a Casa Teresa graduate who balance motherhood, community involvement, professional endeavors and philanthropy. The event will take place on Thursday, May 24th at the Irvine Hyatt Regency at 6 pm. This year's candidates are Alanna Psomas, Kathleen McGaughan, Diann LeVecke and Bonnie Allen-Luna. National Charity League Orange/Villa Park Chapter

Donates $27,000 to Local Charities

The National Charity League Orange/Villa Park Chapter delivered over $27,000 to 13 local Charities-doubling the amount raised and donated the prior year. A majority of the funds were raised at the organization's La Dolce Vita Fashion Show and Luncheon held in November. The proceeds went to a variety of local charitable entities, including Casa Teresa, Friendly Center, Knots of Love, Orange Public Library Foundation, Santa Ana Zoo Foundation, Second Harvest and Susan G. Komen.

Orange Public Library

House Call Program Seeks Volunteers

The Orange Public Library offers a Homebound Delivery Service that brings library materials to patrons. Volunteers needed for both selecting and delivering materials to the home bound. Volunteers make monthly deliveries of books and other library materials, donating on average four hours a month. Requirements include proof of a current California driver's license and insurance. All volunteers 16 years of age and older must fill out a City of Orange non-paid volunteer application and complete drug testing and fingerprinting at the City's expense. Pick up an application at the Orange Public Library, or visit CityOfOrange.org/Library; click on the "volunteer opportunities" link and scroll down to the City of Orange Non-Paid Volunteer Application. Needs Teen Volunteers

Teens 13 years of age and older can volunteer for the library's summer reading program. Working under the supervision of the library staff, teen volunteers may assist with children's programs, hand out reading incentives, shelve books and help with other duties as assigned.

Orange Rotary Club

Grand Garage Sale

The Orange Rotary Club will hold its first annual Grand Garage Sale on Saturday, May 19th from 7:30 am to 3 pm at El Modena High School, 3920 E. Spring St., Orange. Proceeds to benefit the many charities the Orange Rotary supports. The Rotary is also offering space at a nominal fee to other organizations that would like to participate and keep the proceeds.
